Century Logistics Links With Local Schools To Play Business On The Move
Business on the Move is a unique game to encourage 9 to 19 year olds to take an interest in the business world around them. In January, Century Logistics joined local students to teach them how to play the game and donated more than 45 games, worth over £5,000 to local schools and colleges.
The game, which effortlessly combines the complexity of the supply chain (Logistics, Warehousing) with the essential fun factor every game needs, will introduce the concept of moving consumer goods around the world and the impact this has on society. Those schools involved in the county include: Stowmarket High School, Thurston Community College, Mildenhall College Academy, St Benedict’s Catholic School, County Upper School, Priory School Academy, King Edward VI School, Thetford Academy, Iceni Academy and Wayland Academy.
Speaking after the event, Stephen Basey-Fisher, Managing Director Century Logistics commented “Getting involved in Business on the Move is just the start for us. We have invited all those schools involved in the initiative to come and spend a day at our Head quarters in Bury St Edmunds and we were honoured to have been asked to support the project ‘Stepping on – Employability Masterclass’, at Thetford Academy this March. We are keen to build long term relationships with local schools to support ongoing education and look forward to supporting the students throughout 2015 and beyond.”
